Press release from Bill Wright on Florida Summer Tour

Note that a five race series allows one drop
race.
The first three races will be the final
three races of the FL Region Rotax Max Challenge and State Championship
series. We will continue to offer the Max class throughout the remaining
two races.
ENTRY FEES, ETC.
Remain unchanged. S1 = $85 all other classes= $65
fuel= $22.50 event pass= $15
SKUSA CLASS AWARDS
Formula S1 Per-event
: "Scheduled" payout and top three plaques /
Tour-end : points payout: 1st=$1000 2nd=$600 3rd=$400 , top
three Tour end plaques and "Champions Edition" Victory Gear
All other classes
Per event : Top three plaques / Tour end: S2 and
G1 1st in points receive a custom Corsa Driving Suit, all classes top
three Tour end plaques and "Champions Edition" Victory Gear.
TIRES
__ALL__ classes will run MG MZ. This
includes the S1 class. __ALL__ classes will purchase
__RACE__ tires from FK. This includes the S1 class. Cost will be
the normal retail of $145 plus any local taxes. Tires are a pre and post
race tech item. All tires must be marked with the appropriate official
tire marks.
FUEL
Fuel/Oil and procedures are unchanged from
our previous Tours. Advanced Karting is again the official Fuel
Distributor.
TECH
As I have stated previously, we will be
enforcing the 2001 tech rules in ALL classes. In the past we have
ignored certain parts of the rule book. THIS WILL NOT BE THE CASE
BEGINNING AT THE FIRST SUMMER TOUR EVENT. All karts in all classes must
meet the tech standards as they are published on the date of the event.
THIS INCLUDES GRAPHIC STANDARDS, AND ALL OFFICIAL PRACTICE
SESSIONS. If your kart does not meet the graphic standards for your
class you will not be allowed to enter the race course!! THERE WILL BE
NO EXCEPTIONS!! Make sure your kart is technically and graphically
correct before the start of official practice on Saturday. WE WILL NOT
ALLOW YOU TO ENTER THE COURSE UNLESS YOUR KART IS CURRENT.
G1 / G2
I have been approached by a couple of people
wanting us to start the G2 class. This class is for drivers weighing a
minimum of 220lb, with a combined kart/driver minimum of 420lb. I
will evaluate the response at each event, and if participation warrants,
will score and trophy the class separately. Right now I'm taking a
"wait-and-see" attitude.
HOTELS
In the past we have tried to negotiate
discounts for our members. After evaluating this procedure we have
discovered that many times our attempts have actually increased the cost
for our members. Therefore, we will no longer request that you patronize
any single establishment. In the future we will attempt to list several
options. These will not be the only locations available, just a
selection we are aware of. We will continue to make you aware of the
location and times for early registration, if it is being offered.

REGISTRATION:
We are in the process of building a
pre-registration site at www.formulakart.com.
It should be operational in the near future. For now we will continue to
offer early registration at the event site on Friday afternoon, and when
possible, at a hotel near the event site on Friday evenings.
